Same wind farm, new ownership

Following the announcement last year that leading Australian asset management company, HMC Capital (ASX: HMC) had purchased Neoen’s Victorian portfolio, the transaction was completed on 1 August. The HMC team are keen to continue developing this excellent project and some familiar Neoen people are helping them do it.

Field Ecology Surveys

As part of the ongoing environmental studies for the proposed wind farm, Winter bird and flora surveys were conducted in August. These studies are informing the project’s environmental assessments, including strategies to protect precious species, and natural features such as native grass cover on ridgelines. Additional surveys are planned for later this year, in spring and summer.

VicGrid’s Renewable Energy Zones

On 17 August, VicGrid released the 2025 Victorian Transmission Plan (VTP). 

Navarre Green Power Hub is situated within the Western Renewable Energy Zone (REZ). This highlights the suitability of our site for a wind farm, reflected in the State’s approach to coordinating renewable energy development.

We look forward to working with the State Government to understand how the Western REZ can deliver both community benefits and energy system benefits, aligned with our goals for Navarre and surrounding region.
